Q: How much do you charge for custom artwork or murals?

A: Custom artwork on canvas is charged at $3 per square inch.  Murals and custom wall art, created in situ in the space, is $30 per square foot.

Q: What is included in the price?

A: All projects include three initial concept sketches and up to five sketch revisions before the painting begins.
Canvas paintings: gold leaf in the painting, plus on all the edges are included.  Professional hanging hardware is included.  Shipping and framing are not included.
Murals: gold leaf, highest quality interior latex paints, and sealant (if needed) are included.  All additional materials, tools, tarps, masking, ladders are included (up to 11 feet ceiling- higher ceilings may need scaffolding/ scissor lift rental)

Body painted models, camouflaged into the mural for a "big reveal", are not included in this rate.

Q: What is the cost to have body painted models "pop out" of the mural?

A: There are several factors that determine the final price of this show-stopping reveal moment, including the number of models you want, and travel distance from my home in Grass Valley, CA.  But usually it ends up somewhere between $2,200 and $5,000.

Q: Will body painted models embarrass my client or their friends/family/guests?
A: Not at all!  My models are rated PG- dressed in a spandex body suit that then gets painted to completely blend into your mural.  This body paint method is tame enough that I've done it for three separate episodes of Mister Beast!

Q: What is the process for creating a custom mural or artwork?
A:  All projects begin with an in depth interview where I can learn all about your vision for the project and about you personally (or your client).  I put so much of the client's essence into each piece, even if it's in subtle symbolism of "easter eggs", so really listening during the interview is vital.
Here's where you'll share mood boards, Pinterest boards, and any other info that conveys the desired "vibe".  If using fabric from the design is desired, you'll show it to me here.  There's often back and forth "riffing" of ideas as bursts of inspiration bubble up between us.
.

It's at this point that we formalize our agreement, and a 50% deposit is paid.  From here I go in and create three initial concept sketches (including the desired fabric, if we're using that). One sketch is selected for me to develop further, from that I'll submit the final design.

.

Once that is approved (up to 5 revisions are included) I'll get to work on your painting.  Every week you'll get an update on progress, with photos.

(For murals, of course I'll be on site, so the updates aren't needed)

Q: How long does a project take?

A: Typically, from the time the deposit is received to delivery is about 4 weeks.  Things that can adversely effect this timeline are delays in approving designs, delays in getting fabric to me, and extra large canvas sizes that need to be specially built.

For murals, timing will obviously depend on the state of readiness of the home/ space, the size of the wall, and the amount of wall prep that needs to be done to assure clean, durable adhesion.

Q: What types of spaces do you create murals for?

A: I create murals in private homes, storefronts, doctor's offices, yoga studios, salons, business offices... you name it!

Q: Can you work with my interior designer or team?

A: Absolutely!  It's my goal to integrate with the overall project and become part of the team so that your custom artwork truly feels like part of the home, and part of YOU!

Q: What materials do you use for your murals?

A: I use the highest quality, most pigmented and durable interior latex house paints, real 22k gold leaf, and high quality sealer (when needed) to ensure that your masterpiece is rich and vibrant, and stays looking as beautiful as the day it was finished.

Q: Can I make changes to the design once it’s approved?

A: Once one design is chosen from the three initial concept sketches, and the fleshed out version is submitted, I can make up to 5 revisions before additional fees are incurred ($150 per revision after the 5 that are included)  Revisions include changing the color palette, making elements larger or smaller, brighter or darker, flipping the design, etc.  A revision does not mean starting a whole new concept from scratch.   (Starting the concept and revision process again will require an additional $500.)
Once painting begins, some minor modifications can be made.

Q: Do you accept payment plans?

A: A 50% deposit is due after one design is chosen to be developed from the initial 3 concept sketches.  The remaining balance is due upon completion.

Q: Do you travel for projects?

A: I am absolutely ready and willing to travel anywhere in the world to create your mural!  Travel expenses and lodging will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What if I don’t know exactly what I want for my mural or artwork?

A: Relax!  That's what the interview and discovery process is for.  I'll keep asking questions and listening until the ideas start flowing- through our conversation and some sharing of inspiration such as Pinterest boards, and possibly a couple extra conversations, we will come up a design that's an extension of your story, your aesthetic vision, and your essence.
