ALISON KENYON - decorative painting and faux finishing
Decorative painting doesn't have to mean "mural"- or even anything recognizable.
We can create soft nebulous clouds of color, elegant gradients, metallic paint or gold leaf effects, hand painted patterns, faux marble, stone, woodgrain, and so much more.
This botanical dining room was created for a private home in Moraga. The motif was designed and conceived by the artists at Lizarraga Design. I was honored to be a member of the art team on site. These are images of the flowers that I painted.

Camouflaging outlets, switches, and fixtures is becoming ever more popular- especially in homes with high end materials such as stone and marble. It takes a skilled eye to color match these subtle tones- and a steady hand to execute the look. I did these at some luxury condos in Emerald Bay, on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Blending away the outlets and fixtures by matching them to the fancy wall paper is even more fun!
You really have to look closely to find them in these images. I even blended in the bathroom sink, and extended the tops of the trees onto the ceiling.

Custom wall art doesn't always mean "mural".
For their newly installed wall niche, this client wanted something reminiscent of faux finish marble, but in bold colors with gold leaf.
They were inspired by my painting of Venus, and wanted me to recreate that effect for their wall!
