Q: How much do you charge for custom artwork or murals?

A: Custom artwork on canvas can range from $300 to $8,500, depending on size, materials, and complexity.

Murals and custom wall art- created on site- ranges from $20 - $40 per square foot, depending on wall condition, complexity, materials, equipment required, and specialty finishes/coatings (if needed).

Q: What is included in the price?A: All projects include up to three initial concept sketches and up to five sketch revisions before the painting begins.

Murals: high quality architectural paints, and sealant (if needed) are included.  Specialty finishes such at metallic effects and leaf - if decided on before work begins- will be  factored into your quote. (if added later, these will be billed separately)
All additional materials, tools, tarps, masking, and ladders are included (up to 11 feet - taller pieces may need scaffolding/ scissor lift rental, paid for by the client)

Q: What is the process for creating a custom mural or artwork?
A:  All projects begin with an in depth interview where I can learn all about your vision for the project and about you personally (or your client).  I put so much of the client's essence into each piece, even if it's in subtle symbolism of "easter eggs", so really listening during the interview is vital.
Here's where you'll share mood boards, Pinterest boards, and any other info that conveys the desired "vibe".
.

It's at this point that we formalize our agreement, and a 50% deposit is paid.  From here I go in and create three initial concept sketches One sketch is selected for me to develop further, from that I'll submit the final design.

.

Once that is approved (up to 5 minor revisions are included) I'll get to work on your painting. For murals, I'll bring all materials to you location, lay down protective floor coverings, and tarp/tape as needed before any painting begins.

For commissioned paintings on canvas, you'll get a progress update with photos weekly.

Q: How long does a project take?

A:  For murals, timing will depend on the state of readiness of the home/ space, the size of the wall, complexity of the design, and the amount of wall prep that needs to be done to assure clean, durable adhesion.
Statement walls are typically done in about 2-7 days.  Large murals can take up to 4 weeks.

For commissioned paintings on canvas delivery is typically about 4 weeks from deposit to delivery.  Some exceptions can come when there are delays in design approval or extra large canvas sizes are needed.

Q: What types of spaces do you create murals for?

A: I create murals in powder rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms... storefronts, doctor's offices, yoga studios, salons, business offices... you name it!

Q: What is the payment schedule?

A: A 50% deposit is due after one design is chosen to be developed from the initial 3 concept sketches.  The remaining balance is due upon completion.

Q: What is your service area? Do you travel?

A: I am based in western Nevada County, and the rates listed above are for locations within 50 miles of Grass Valley.  Projects outside this radius will have travel allowance added.
But I am also absolutely ready to travel anywhere in the world to create your mural!  Travel expenses and lodging will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What if I don’t know exactly what I want for my mural or artwork?

A: Relax!  That's what the interview and discovery process is for.  I'll keep asking questions and listening until the ideas start flowing- through our conversation and some sharing of inspiration such as Pinterest boards, and possibly a couple extra conversations, we will come up a design that's an extension of your story, your aesthetic vision, and your essence.
